From 21-26 February Birmingham's NEC will be home to the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2017, with nearly 350 leading leisure brands including caravan holiday homes, camping equipment and accessories. The show provides inspiration for those who love the great outdoors... tickets are on sale now.


Away Resorts is looking forward to a busy festive season with all of its parks staying open over the Christmas and New Year period.  "Our guests are really keen to escape to our parks over the festive period and enjoy some time with their families that isn't dictated by the Christmas TV schedule and sale shopping," the company says. Its parks have all-weather facilities which means that families can be active, without having to brave the cold.


Holiday Caravan 2016 (Beaulieu) takes place from 23-25 September at Hides Field, Beaulieu, Hampshire SO42 7ZN on the Beaulieu estate in the New Forest. This is the first public showing in the south of England of many of the new season's caravan holiday homes (‘statics'). Opening times for the public are 10am to 5pm each day.

Omar Group has officially now opened its new £1.1m, 43,806 sq. ft. factory extension in Brandon. The company says the added factory capacity will help to address market demand for both its lodges and retirement park homes, which it manufactures in Suffolk.

Planning permission has been granted for a £3m extension to Tingdene Home's production facilities in Wellingborough. Tingdene manufactures residential park homes and holiday lodges and the works are aimed at improving efficiencies and increasing productivity via two production lines. This will shorten waiting times for homes.


At this year's Motorhome & Caravan Show (NEC, 11-16 October) visitors can explore the latest caravan holiday homes and lodges on the market. Beautifully designed and built from quality materials, yet affordable, many of these homes can be tailored to suit your particular requirements. Away Resorts is investing over £12m in its five holiday centres, particularly Tattershall Lakes in Lincolnshire.  A new £4m entertainment complex has opened on the park, called The Merlin.  Its focal point is a life size replica of a Battle of Britain Spitfire suspended from the ceiling, celebrating the heroes from the RAF, who have a base nearby.  Holiday homes by the lakeside will be offered for sale in the next two years.

Earlier this year, park home and lodge manufacturer, Omar Group become one of the London Stock Exchange Group's, 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain.  Omar has now been selected as one of 1,000 Companies to Inspire Europe.

Hot on the success of the October show, tickets have gone on sale for the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show (NEC Birmingham, 23-28 February 2016). The event will feature the latest leisure vehicles, including lodges and holiday homes. The popular dog agility area returns and new for 2016 is a glamping holiday village. Advanced tickets start at just £7 for seniors (60+ years) and £8 for adults.


Holiday operators Parkdean and Park Resorts are to merge. The enlarged business will operate 73 holiday parks,stretching right across the UK, will look after 22,200 caravan owners and offer a choice of 35,400 pitches.

Hoburne Park in Christchurch has won Silver in the Dorset Tourism Awards for the second year running. It was a double celebration for the family owned and run business, as Hoburne Devon Bay picked up Silver at the English Rivera and South Devon Tourism and Hospitality Awards.


Don Amott Parks, owners of Lakeside Park in North Somercotes, has announced plans for a new gated estate of 90 luxury holiday homes, with a launch in April 2016.  It is to feature spectacular water features and state-of-the-art holiday homes (prices from £55,000 to £150,000). 

A huge range of holiday homes can be seen in the New Forest at Holiday Caravan 2015 (25 to 27 September).  Over 150 homes will be on display, including lodges and park homes.

A £12 million plan to revamp Finlake Holiday Park near Chudleigh in Devon is afoot.  The Haulfyn Group hopes to develop the park with an extra 95 holiday lodges.  A new visitor reception and upgrades to the swimming pools, spa and other areas are planned.

Castle View Holiday Home Park in the historic Welsh seaside resort of Harlech, is soon to see a £2 million investment by owners Salop Leisure.  It will have 60 caravan holiday homes and the second phase of development will be completed by the end of the year, hopefully bringing it to 5* standard.
